New Dining Experience at 10239 Fair Oaks Blvd., Suite D in Fair Oaks Village, Focusing on Patio Expansion to Be Back Up and Running By End of March

We're pleased to introduce David Jeffries of Brahma Bar & Grill in our Business Spotlight Series.

We're spotlighting various merchants in the Fair Oaks Village, as well as individuals who support what FOVEC does, all while giving you a little insight into our history and what we do for the Village. We encourage you to share these local stories and visit with merchants to get to know them firsthand.

We connected with David to learn more about Brahma Bar & Grill, its September 2020 opening, and plans for 2021.

Tell us about your business. When did you open? What was the main motivation for starting your business?

After living in Fair Oaks as a young man, I have always been partial to the Old Village. Now, later in life and owning a construction company specializing in restaurant build-outs, I noticed a dilapidated space and the opportunity to put something exclusive in a community for which I have a history and passion.

What's something you wish people knew about your business?

It is a classy, rustic environment; relaxing and unique to the area. Our signature dishes and hand-crafted cocktails are distinctly different from other restaurants in the Village.

Personally speaking, what is your favorite thing about your business?

The small-town feel and the charm of the Village along with being in a beautiful and supporting community.

What's the biggest compliment you have received about your business?

Customers enjoy the unique décor and, of course, the food.

What is a common question you get? Your answer to it?

What is a Brahma?

It is an American bull and unknown to most. There is also an American Brahma chicken, which fits right into the theme of the Fair Oaks chicken village. We’ve combined the two as our logo and mascot.

What is your most popular dish? And, personally, what is your favorite?

The brisket tacos are already a fan favorite.

My personal favorite is the ribeye steak.

Are you involved with or do you support any local nonprofits, community organizations or causes?

Since we have only been open for such a short time, not yet, but we will entertain getting much more involved with the community and nonprofits. We do look forward to working with the Fair Oaks Chamber of Commerce.

Why did you choose to be in Fair Oaks Village? Why is this city important to you?

Even with more than 30,000 residents, Fair Oaks still has a small-town feel with a very laid-back vibe. With its proximity to the nature of the American River Parkway and its many tree-lined streets, there is not much about Fair Oaks you cannot love.

The Fair Oaks Village has always been the hub of the community with its cultural events, festivals, concerts, plays, and of course, the chickens. However, it was lacking a variety of sit-down dining experiences.

Do you have any upcoming events, specials or new items/services that people should know about?

Now we are focused on finishing our patio extension while creating a safe and weather-resistant outdoor experience.

The biggest event in the Village is The Chicken Festival and we are very excited about that. We are also always looking to switch up our menu choices and provide the freshest and unique food in Fair Oaks Village.

How has COVID-19 impacted your business? Have you rebounded? Did you do anything special given the circumstances?

We opened in mid-September with only outdoor dining and with the hopes of staying open. When the second lockdown was implemented, it was a very big hit for us.

However, while we have been closed, we’ve built a large covered and heated outdoor patio, which can accommodate many more people year-round.

Anything else you'd like to add?

We cannot wait to get back to business, providing the best possible experience to anyone who joins us for a meal. We are hoping to be back up and running by the end of March.
